What it is
Alternatives to Suicide is the only group of it’s kind in the United States that was created For and By persons with previous suicidal ideation and/or attempts. It was created by the Wildflower Alliance.

Who it is for
Alternatives to Suicide is a group space where community members ages 16+, come together to talk about the feelings and emotions that are causing stress in their lives.
Whether you are actively or have previously had suicidal thoughts, this anonymous space is for you.
It is completely voluntary, no mandatory reporting and most of all- a safe space.
Where is it
This group is held in person on Thursdays from 5-6:30 pm.
Surf Center 307 N. 10th St, Lafayette, IN
You may join or leave at any time.
Coffee provided. Smoking is permitted outdoors.

Even if you are not currently experiencing suicidal thoughts or ideation, this space is for you.
Life stressors, alcohol, substance misuse, and trauma can all lead to thoughts of suicide or self-harm.

Online only group, dedicated to current or former serving military members only. Any branch is welcome.
All attendance is confidential. There is no reporting or sharing of any kind.

This is the only group of it’s kind created For and By persons with previous suicidal ideation and/or attempts.
We understand that suicide is an attempt at a solution rather than the problem itself. We utilize dialogue to uncover deeper causal roots towards healing.
2023 Statistics
Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States
2nd leading cause for those between the ages of 15-24
Men aged 75+ are at the highest risk of suicidal ideation and attempts
1 person dies by suicide every 11 minutes
2024- we lost 150 first responders to suicide
Adults are 3x more likely to also complete suicide if they lost a loved one to suicide
Children are 4x more likely to complete suicide if they lost a parent to suicide

Petition to update community alert colors: Blue- violent offenders whom have killed or seriously injured a member of law enforcement. Camo/Green- current or former military personnel whose whereabouts are unknown.
Accredited organization that allows you to have your own pet trained and certified to be either a Service Dog or an Emotional Support Animal.
Ending Unhealthy Relationships, Personal Safety, Setting Boundaries, Native American, Deaf, LGBTQ Services, When Your Family Doesn’t Approve, and Dating Violence.
They provide a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment where members can engage in a healing conversation with a mentor.
They craft custom fit mobility solutions tailored to the needs of veterans and first responders injured in the line of duty.
They partner with domestic violence programs across the country to provide free smartphones and data service to the survivors they support.
